Building Good People

Rather than working on buildings like the masons of old, today’s Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.

Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral values.  It provides a structure to instil in its members a moral approach to life based on the four principles of  integrity, friendship, respect, and service.

Building Together

One of the oldest social organisations in the world, Freemasonry is not defined by an ideology. It is open to people from all religions and political persuasions, and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.

Building Unity

With a membership of more than 200,000 people drawn from communities across the England & Wales, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.

Freemasonry also teaches concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.

Building Compassion

Kindness and charitable giving are deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry. The organisation provides a support structure that helps members make positive contributions to communities and worthwhile causes through fundraising events or volunteer work.

Welcome to the home of the Devon Farmers Lodge

The Devon Farmers Lodge membership is made up of farmers, horticulturists, members of ancillary trades and anyone who has an interest in rural affairs.

Are You Interested in Farming and Rural Affairs ?

We are a unique members’ organisation that has thrived for over 300 years. Having no political or religious affiliations, we comprise members of all ages, races, religions, cultures and backgrounds. We meet in our individual Lodges throughout the country where we have ceremonial traditions which encourage us both to be more tolerant and respectful and actively to fulfil our civic and charitable responsibilities; we also make time to eat, drink and meet together, and form lifelong friendships.

The membership of the Devon Farmers Lodge is made up of predominantly farmers from across Devon, but also from ancillary trades such as auctioneers, butchers etc. We also cater for members who have an interest in rural affairs and activities.

Although freemasonry has a serious side in it’s quest to make “good men better” through it’s historic rituals at Devon Farmers Lodge we try to enhance the members experience by having some FUN, whether that be at lodge meetings or social activities involving friends and family.

The Devon Farmers Lodge is one of 127 lodges within the Province of Devonshire, visiting other lodges is a key concept within freemasonry which helps to broaden your friend base and give you the opportunity to meet with other people from all walks of life. In many cases meeting up like this creates friendships for life.
